Year 7 enjoyed a 6 week sport course in partnership with Burnley FC. Mr Adjei organised the course, delivered by coaches Jack and Josh that proved very popular with the pupils. The fifteen pupils who started the course all completed it in an outstanding fashion and can be very proud of their achievements. The course covered many sports including Football, Quick Cricket, Basketball, Tag Rugby and Uni-Hoc, and towards the end the classroom based lessons focused on teamwork and the importance of it in any sport.
On the final week of the course, the pupils were invited to visit Burnley FC for a tour and to meet some of the players. They also enjoyed a sports session in Burnley’s new indoor training facility, which they were very excited about.
The Year 7’s have participated with great enthusiasm and a strong willingness to learn and their behaviour has been testament to the high standards encouraged at Belmont. They have really enjoyed the extra sports classes and the other years are keen for their turn given the very positive feedback. Burnley FC also kindly donated a signed shirt, ball and tickets to the school. The shirt will be framed and proudly displayed in the school.
